Animal Rescue Center, Chocolate Lady & Waterfall | $59.00
This half day tour includes 3 local favorites. At the rescue center you will see many of the local animals. The rescue serves as a refuge and rehabilitation center for animals. Expect to see monkeys, sloths, snakes and more while learning about the animals and the need for this center. The Chocolate lady will show you the indigenous chocolate making process from local Cocoa plants. You will have the opportunity to purchase some of the chocolate and other indigenous hand made pieces. You finish with 20 minute hike through the jungle to a local waterfall. This picturesque location is great for a swim to cool off and snap some photos.
Bird Watching | $60.00
This half day tour gives you the opportunity to enjoy a superb bird watching while hiking through lovely areas. Some species you may see are the red-capped manikin, crested owl, the olive throated parakeet, pale vented pigeon, masked tityra, collared aracari, slaty antshike, keel-billed and chestnut-mandible toucan, magnificent frigate bird, common black hawk, passerine's tananger, black-cowled oriole and others. (two sites available-Samasati Retreat or Manzanillo Wildlife refuge, which requires additional park entrance fee )
Cahuita National Park Hike | $55.00
This half day walking tour will take you through one of the most beautiful parks in Costa Rica. White sand beaches, coconut palms swaying in the breeze will surround you while your trained local guide shares the history of the region and helps you spot animals in the jungle canopy. You often meet white faced monkeys, sloths, howler monkeys, raccoons, iguanas and other species as you wind your way along the beach and trail. At about 1/2 way near Cahuita Point you will have a break to enjoy some refreshments and a dip in the ocean. The walk concludes at the south park entrance.
Gandoca Mazanillo Refuge Jungle Hike | $55.00
This half day walking tour is an unforgettable experience. You will be in the jungle surrounded by giant trees, exotic vegetation hanging from every surface and intoxicating sounds of its inhabitants . Your naturalist guide will help you spot many of the animals living in the area. You may encounter white faced and howler monkeys, sloths, iguana, snakes, poison dart frogs and some of the many others who make this jungle home. During the hike your guide will share information about the medicinal plants, natural history and Afro-Caribbean customs. At the conclusion you will have time to enjoy lunch at the famous Maxi's or explore the town on your own. (For those who prefer a shorter hike a 2 hr version is available with a 2 hr visit to the spectacular Punta Uva beach-My Favorite! Punta Uva has some of the most beautiful views on the coast. It is a local favorite for swimming and snorkeling.)
Night Time Turtle Watching | $70.00
This seasonal tour (March - July) is from approximately 7-11 PM. While walking Gandoca beach your naturalist guide will share the history of the largest sea turtle, the Leatherback. These living fossils can be 2 meters long & 650 Kg. Watching a mother lay her eggs on the beach in the moonlight will leave you awestruck. These beautiful creatures are in danger of extinction and during the tour you will learn what more can be done to help save this magnificent species.
