Weather & Stuff
When is the best time to visit?
Normally the heaviest Caribbean rain appears in Dec. & July. You'll find cooler temps Dec.-Mar but it's rarely cooler than the low 70's or hotter than the high 80"s Mosquitoes Rooms are screened, and with repellent or long sleeves & pants at dusk bites are minimal in this area.(We also provide organic natural insect repellant in our rooms.) Snakes, spiders, and other creepy crawlers It would be very rare to see a snake in town; however lizards, toads, and many bugs make their way from the jungle to the garden. It's still the rain forest. If you visit the jungle expect to see a lot more of these creatures. Is Costa Rica safe? Most crimes are ones of opportunity. Do not walk or ride your bike at night on a dark road. If you've had a few too many, take a cab. Go out with friends, leave electronics in the room, ask a local, use common sense. |
